the bike is rolling, see here for first ride pics and vids, or big dummy for more recent posts tagged thusly...
It is army green and has 4 sets of water bottle bosses. I am a month behind in planning, I still need to figure out wheels and brakes and I only just ordered the xtracycle attachments, but I will get it rolling to see what is up.
68" long on the diagonal, frame only...
Provisional roll it around single speed stylee build, 7'2" back end to tip of front wheel:

I am pretty impressed. They thought about this a bunch. I was originally planning on buying a front end MTB from Kelly when they went out of buisness and then brazing on the long tail myself, but I quit that when they announced this bike coming along. I am really glad I waited. I am pretty sure I would still not be done with the DIY version.
See the CRC shop blog for pics of a built up one. Dammit.

I'd like to drop by and take a look at it in person.
So... what times are you usually at home...?
Because, you know... I don't want to, like, miss you or anything... Yeah, that's it.
He's beautiful! (a bike called "big dummy" really can't be referred to as "she").
What's the first load going to be?
Forty pounds of mulch and 2 breakfast burritos?
5 wheels and 2 breakfast burritos?
Thirty pounds of cheese and 2 breakfast burritos?
Dangit Holmes, look at that wingspan, will ya!
Hey Tarik,
What is project X? 24inch wheels with bmx hubs. Very Curious

Marrock,
you know uh, I am home all the time. So come on.
Jill,
Why only two breakfast burritos? I think you are loosing your touch down there in the lowlands.
Mauricio,
Yep, thats how you size a bike like this. The diagonal should be equal to your wingspan.
Phil,
I will fully unveil project x when it arrives. It is a pretty straightforward application of 24" bmx rims though...
20"s have landed. Mine will be in my wingspan manaña. Met a bloke from Iowa last week at Frostbake that sent your salutations. I send them right back...
Great news Hurl! Having a hard time being patient for my 20"er.
Apparently the force is strong in me as well. Strong enough anyway.
My Big Dummy frame is taking up this huge amount of space in my study right now.
I look forward to seeing how you enjoy riding this crazy thing. I wanted one BAAAAAD, but the long wait and a lack of funds have put that project on hold for a while.
